Talking 1 Silver Battle Commendation - A GW Experiment

This is a challenge I have been issued by my guild, inspired by the "1 red paperclip" story that can be found here

http://oneredpaperclip.blogspot.com/

I was given a....generious donation of one battle com to see what i can do with it, how much profit can one person make with 1 battle com?

Here be the rules set
1.Items only, no cash must change hands
2. No freebies, or forced trades (E.G giving something for an item that was offered free anyway)
3. If more than 1 item (Stacks not included) is traded, pick 1 item to continue with
4. No boosting trades or incentives, work only with what you have

Value is taken from General community price (e.g Battle com is 100g), Mats sell value, Dye/rare mats buy value, Merch value, Marketwatch prices

The story so far:
Given 1 battle commendation (Value: 100g)
Traded 1 Battlecom (Value: 100g) for 26 Feathers (Value: 78g)
Traded 26 Feathers (Value: 78g) For Expert Salvage Kit (12 uses Value:96g)
Traded 1 Expert Salvage Kit (12 uses, Value:96g) for 1 Blue Dye (Value: 240g)
Traded 1 Blue dye for 1 Gold wand (Req 11 Death, HRT death 19%, Highly salvage - Value: 340g)
Traded 1 gold wand (Req 11 Death, HRT death 19%, Highly salvage) For Wand wrapping of memory (20% Value 3-10k - Guru price)

-------------------------------
my first weapon...this could be difficult

The Spam continues:

WTT Wand wrapping of memory (20%) for something of similar value!

....anyone?

Awesome idea. Probably shouldn't keep bumping it multiple times a day, though. It'll end up locked.

I totally was about to start something like this. Seriously. I had read about hte paper clip story a couple months ago, and I got the idea when I heard it mentioned at my office last month.

I was going to start with a single iron ingot, and go from there, but I was going to do it all in-game.

maybe I'll get it started, and we can compare notes later....

I spent almost a minute trying to figure out what a battle com was. It's usually best to write the full word first, then use abbreviations.

Interesting idea though.

Lol me too. "Battle Communicator? What's that? Like Teamspeak or something?" Then he went on about how he traded it for materials...

awww all this interest but no offers...seriously...no-one want blue dye ='[

and about it not being "legit" odds are it is for the cuase, but for example the salvage kit - someone was asking to borrow one in DoA....They had a spare blue dye they had no use for, who lost really?

I did something like this a little while ago but i allowed my self to sell the items and then just buy other cheap items and then resell, not as good as your way for sure but i started with a little under 10k and now have around 600k and lots of items. Didnt take to long either just traded a few items increasing value a little bit here and a little bit there until i traded for a medium crystaline and then i sold that for 22 ectos. GL to you mate

You should goto ascalon dis 1 and trade your gold for someone else's gold until you get one good enough to trade for a green and then go from there to materials or runes again. Seeing as how often runes and mats change in value it would be easy to trade for something of more value if you time it right.
